A stunning display of color.

Colour, Sparkles, and Vibrance. Day two of couture week was a visual display made even sweeter when accompanied by old friends.

RUNWAY 1: Schiaparelli

An honest celebration of creativity and diversity. It seemed newly appointed creative director, Daniel Roseberry perfectly timed his debut runway to coincide with Pride month; a sublime continuation of the festivities happening in New York City only hours before.

So many of the looks incorporated a glimmer of sparkle in their design (and who doesn’t love a little sparkle?) – and this was the ideal segue into my showings with Cartier.

APPOINTMENT 1: BIOLOGIQUE RECHERCHE

Biologique Recherche is an absolute MUST when in Paris! I am already addicted to their products, but their treatments here are like no other. The boutique and spa space is equally as unique. On the Bottom of the Champs Élysée, this is a true slice of heaven; a peaceful bubble awaits.

The staff is incredibly professional and the treatments are tailored to your needs (they make it incredibly hard to leave!). But I managed – zen, regenerated, and dare I say a little younger? I even continued the rest of the days shows without any foundation. An honest reflection of the excellent work they do.

As I made my way to the Christian Dior Fall 19 Couture Show, I ran into the beloved @mrstreetpeeper on the streets of Paris. You know it’s fashion week now.

RUNWAY 2: CHRISTIAN DIOR

Maria Grazia Chiuri played with shadows for her Fall Couture Runway – lots of black with the slightest reference of deep hued metallics. The show had an underground feeling, symbolized by the roots of a tree surrounding the guests. Structure, silhouette, and texture were clearly the focus for Maria.

To my delight, I was sitting opposite our July InStyle Cover star, Priyanka Chopra. It seemed fitting to be staring at her beautiful presence here, and on the cover of our celebrated issue.

RUNWAY 3: RALPH & RUSSO

An incredible display made even more impressive by the 90metre runway constructed within the British Embassy Gardens (the show’s venue). The runway looks justifiably transitioned from white to powdered hues, extending the blossoming feeling from surrounds to couture. As always, Ralph & Russo did not skimp on the sparkle.

EXHIBITION: GIAMBATTISTA VALLI

Giambattista Valli staged an exhibition for couture week, rather than a show. But it was nevertheless as breathtaking. Of course, his tiered tulle gowns were a feature – a reminder of those displayed at The Costume Institute’s ‘Camp: Notes on Fashion. Always an artist.

EVENT: CARINE ROITFELD PERFUME LAUNCH COCKTAIL PARTY

What a way to end the day. Surrounded by old friends of 20 or so years, it was much like a family reunion. Conveniently, Carine hosted her cocktail party for the launch of her fragrance collection ‘7 Lovers’ at The Peninsula Paris – one of my most loved second homes.
