Gone are the days when women strategically hid their undergarments, and showing a strap or hint of bra was taboo. Garments that were once viewed as functional wear are now fashionable accessories meant to be seen. Bras accented with lace, stylish straps and pops of color are a standout way to update an outfit, and with the new season almost upon us, a nod to layering and thinking about transitional wardrobe starts here.

For an easy style, try a black bra with lace accents under a white t-shirt. Parisian style icon Caroline de Maigret swears by the look. Another subtle approach is to update a simple blouse by undoing a few top buttons and allowing the texture of your bra— a satin cup, scalloped edge or star print lace, for example— to peek out.
