Day four at Paris Fashion Week brings us what I think I can say is my favorite show of the season, Valentino.

THE FASHION WEEK DIARIES: PARIS SPRING 2020 PART FOUR IS ALL ABOUT ARTISTRY, TRYING SOMETHING NEW, AND MY FAVORITE FRONT ROW FAMILY.
Paris Spring Summer 2020
A fashion week diary
Day four commences with Parisian rain, and a look I have decided to call queen mom on acid.
Schiaparelli Spring 2020
Daniel Roseberry’s first ready to wear presentation for Schiaparelli was incredible. Held at the Hôtel d’Evreux on Place Vendôme, the installation was a work of art, with female shaped ornamentations sculpted out of items like goldfish bowls, dripping flowers, hairdiers, and even My Little Ponies. The makeup was itself a surreal art show as well— no surprise there as it was the masterwork of Erin Parsons. This presentation was a wonderful collection that paid homage to Elsa Schiaparelli, and captured her imagination in an essential RTW collection with a very personal touch from Roseberry.
Next, a stop to view Ana Khourie’s beautiful jewelry collection. With a background in fine arts and sculpture, she does classic things with a punk edge so you can wear her pieces without feeling obtuse. One of my favorites was an ear cuff with a dangling emerald pendant.
Holidermie x Melanie Huynh Brunch
I then rushed to celebrate the launch of my friend Melanie Hyunh’s new wellness line, Holidermie. We were treated to HoliFace Yoga— a first for me— while filling out a quick questionnaire that helps the brand create personalized supplements based on your lifestyle and wellness needs. Holidermie’s approach is to provide clean skincare and wellness centered around rituals.
Valentino Spring 2020
In my opinion, the best show of this season. It is always unexpected perfection in the way that Pierpaolo Piccioli’s attention to detail and meticulous dedication to the story of a collection manages to surprise and yet make complete sense. I always find that the order show, while different from what my creative mind would have come up with, takes me on a journey that I couldn’t imagine experiencing in any other way after the final look graces the runway. Every detail is well thought out from the models to the makeup, and there is a true sense of joy and a complete dedication to creativity that can only be executed by someone who has honed their craft and their language. I loved the homage to the idea of a perfect white shirt and how it was turned and shaped into so many dreamy yet stylized looks.
Tabitha Simmons 2020
Next, it was off to the Tabitha Simmons press appointment, which showed us some beautiful brightly hued new colors and silhouettes. I was also just in time to catch the Eiffel tower light up on my way out, which never gets old no matter how many times you see it.
Givenchy Spring 2020
At Givenchy, I sat between my two mentors Carine Roitfeld and Laura Brown, which always guarantees the best time, as being with them is where I feel most at home in the industry. The soundtrack for the show was especially great, with music from Princess Nokia in perfect contrast to some looks and lending a crucial expression of the show’s 90s Paris meets NYC theme to others.
