Paris Spring Summer 2020
A fashion week diary
Paris Fashion Week begins in New York City with an essential preflight treat from Dr.Colbert, my wonderful dermatologist. First, I dropped the kids off at school, packed, attended to my clients, one who had a fitting for an event, and the other a big trip coming up. Then, straight to Dr.Colbert. I texted him the night before inquiring about emergency paris prep, and he came in just for me the next morning for which I am eternally grateful. Upon realizing how run down I am, he hooked me up to everything possible. We are talking IV nutrient drip, face mask, LED lights, oxygen, and he even drew my blood for evaluation. It was the ultimate multitasking moment, which is how I like to roll, and then he sent me off to the airport with his lovely and newly launched Colbert Plus CBD Facial Oil.
Chloe Spring 2020
After a quick stop at my hotel to freshen up, Chloe was a truly beautiful show, and the perfect start to my day after arriving from my flight in the morning. With this collection, designer Natacha Ramsay-Levis’ voice sang throughout the collection, and while I could live in most of it, I especially loved her Chloe take on shorts. A classic yet refreshingly true and authentic interpretation of the house codes in Natacha’s design language.
Roger Vivier Spring 2020
Gherardo Felloni is bringing a lot of fantasy to the brand. In an immersive experience he welcomed us into the Hotel Vivier, a charismatic presentation of the collection inside a showgirl, boudoir inspired setting. My very good friend Elisa Nalin also consults with Vivier so I am of course always happy to attend something she has lent her talent to.
Paco Rabanne Spring 2020
Paco Rabanne has shown a very interesting few seasons ,which I have loved. For the Spring 2020 show, designer Julien Dossena gave us a noticeable change with an optimistic 70s vibe in bright colors, mixed prints, patchwork, and a playful, exuberant element throughout the story. My favorite looks had a hint of romance in their pink floral pattern, and who can resist a shimmery interpretation of chainmail?
Bonpoint spring 2020
Kids clothes are always fun and I love to think of my daughters while I am in Paris, and for that, Bonpoint has the loveliest selection. Bonpoint also has a beauty line, and I am very committed to their perfume, as it is my signature scent. For her first collection with the brand, designer Ann Valèrie Hash turned to the archives with sustainability in mind (which I applaud), and created patchwork pieces from recycled Liberty fabrics. Bonpoint have always been very kind to me and the girls over the years, and it feels as though they are a part of the family.
Moynat Spring 2020
Moynat is a wonderful maison that I have worked with for a very long time. Founded in 1849 by the first female trunk-maker in history, Pauline Moynat, her vision and innovation continues to show through in their intricate attention to quality and detail. I especially loved the mini vanity in abstract colors, she design of which is an homage to the 1925 “malle en maroquin rouge”.
Isabel Marant Spring 2020
Isabel Marant was not only a wonderful show, but I also got to catch up with close friends Karla Martinez (Editor in Chief of Vogue Mexico) and Doutzen Kroes. On her Spring 2020 runway, Isabel gave us reimagined 80s styling with a summery vibe while remaining ever true to her unique house codes. I also love seeing my favorite models on the runway, who are like superstars for me; Eva Herzigova, Adut Akech, Gigi Hadid, and Anna Ewers.
Fabien BaroN RETROSPECTIVE Book Launch
Fabien Baron is a wonderful creative director and to say he is talented is simply an understatement. My day came full circle with the perfect ending at his launch dinner, which was hosted in a stunning setting at Chapelle des Beaux Arts. Needless to say we stayed out far too late (early in the morning!) enjoying the company of close friends celebrating Fabien’s career. The beauty of having a dear friend celebrated with a retrospective by Phaidon, is seeing the story and the growth of their talent and achievements captured for the world to enjoy and appreciate. Fabien’s genius can now unfold and inspire in new ways every time someone opens his book.
