Don't we all secretly desire to have a reason to dress up in this season's new styles or our favorite wardrobe treasures?

But wait… the occasion may finally arise that we are invited to a dinner party of six. After all these months with our families or isolation groups, its quite a big event! Who would have thought that we would ever call a gathering of six people a social event with a capital “E”? A year after what felt like a teleportation into the inciting incident scene in a futuristic thriller, an tiny gathering counts just as much as a big party may have before.

So, the question arises: how to dress for such an occasion? Here are a couple of looks that came to mind, and came together as just the right amount of glamour and decency. We all should all remember that humor and glamour can be good for the soul, and fashion can be a tool for our mental health and wellness. I love an alluring decollete detail at a seated dinner party, the contrasting raw cut tulle is the whimsical surprise when you stand up.

Never underestimate the power of a good knit. I especially love an elegant head to toe look for a transitional outfit that lends itself in between any season. A jacquard motif is captivating, and a rather sharp and elegant shoe pairing creates contrast to the organic print, making it party ready. A tonal look with block coloring has the same statement effect.

Now that it’s officially spring, a little leg feels luxurious, even it is indoors. A menswear inspired shirt dress lets us button up the top (literally), and leaves room to play with an embellished slingback. Pointed toe shoes elongate the leg, and styles like mules or slides still feel cozy but step us into something with a little elegance. Slip on an oversized blazer to add a little structure and a touch of mad hatter to the look.
