We tried the high-tech Dr. Dennis Gross DRX at-home LED face mask, and it really works.

If you want smoother and brighter skin, there is no shortage of anti-aging masks, serums, and procedures to choose from. But there is often a catch; face masks can be messy, micro-needling can be uncomfortable, chemical peels take time to heal, and Fraxel treatments are expensive. It can be hard to come by a pain-free, mess-free, and hands-free alternative that doesn’t require frequent trips to the derm — but the DDG DRX by Dr.Dennis Gross is just that: the simple at-home remedy to all your skin concerns.

This FDA-approved, LED mask helps to smooth wrinkles, calm redness, clear existing acne, and prevent future breakouts. After using the mask once a day for just three weeks, I noticed that my imperfections were considerably reduced, and my skin was left glowing almost immediately after treatment.

The device (which is incredibly easy to use) features 100 LED lights in red mode, and 62 LED lights in blue mode. It has three different treatments to choose from; red light to stimulate collagen and elastin production in order to reduce wrinkles, blue light to eliminate acne-causing bacteria and prevent future breakouts, and dual red and blue lights to target both concerns simultaneously.

You can safely use the mask on a daily basis, but I find that two to three times a week is more realistic with a busy schedule. On the days that I do use it, I like to cleanse my face and then use Dr. Gross’ Alpha Beta® Peel before letting the mask work its magic. After three minutes, it turns off automatically and I follow with my go-to serum and moisturizer.

One of the most appealing perks of this mask is that there’s no downtime or irritation after use. You get all of the anti-aging and acne-fighting benefits you want, without unwanted redness, peeling, or discomfort. Another plus? LED treatments are suitable for all skin types and tones, and unlike other acne treatments and retinoids, light therapy is also considered safe during pregnancy.

While a visit to the dermatologist can cost a couple of hundred dollars, and treatments even thousands, this easy-to-use mask retails for $435 and can make a difference in your skin in as little as two weeks. Bottom line? This is a glow-worthy investment.
